Solitude
High in the Great Smokies near the Appalachian Trail this lone tree stands up to the wind on the grassy bald. Clouds swirl around and the wind whistles. Up here you can feel as though you are the only person on the planet. However just a short walk over and the trail will be bustling with people even at 6am.

Raging Falls
Water plummets over the 45 foot falls and swirls in the pool below.
High Light
Swirling mists and clouds are broken by the rays of first light spot lighting Longs Peak (14200ft). Down in the valley below the trees the mist shrouded loud bugels from numerous Elk. Another 45 minutes later the light finally descended into the valley and the mist evaporated.
Anchored
These weather beaten rocks covered with lichen brace themselves as a summer storm approaches. This pair have seen their fare share of magnificent moments.
